Karl Rove

Karl Rove's little speech last Wednesday night was little more than an act of desperation. More and more Republicans, including Walter "Freedom Fries" Jones, are either turning against the war or demanding a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq.

So, what does Karl decide to do? Play the 9-11 card, of course. Yawn.

Predictable. But, then again, Karl Rove is basically a one or two trick pony.

It amuses me when people, even Bill Clinton, say that Karl Rove is a genius. If Rove is so good, then how could he have misjudged the Terri Schiavo situation so badly?

The next election that Karl Rove wins fairly and squarely will be his first.

Karl Rove is the tick on the scrotum of American politics.

Durbin Backs Down

Illinois Senator Dick Durbin today apologized for his comments last week comparing the actions of US soldiers to that of Hitler and Pol Pot.

Senator, you should not have backed down. If people were offended by what you said, then that is just too damned bad.

If American soldiers are upset about being compared to Nazis, then perhaps they should stop behaving like Nazis. Do not obey any orders to invade foreign countries without provocation. Don't participate in any more "coerced interrogations". The Nurrenburg Trials give you the option of disobeying any illegal order. Don't allow Bu$h and his gang of scum disgrace you any further.

Take a look at yourselves in the mirror. Do you like what you see these days?

General Clark In Hostile Territory

Former General and Democratic Presidential candidate Wesley Clark has signed up with the Fox News Channel.

He is having dinner with, among others, porn star Mary Carey.

Aren't you so proud right about now?

For God's sake, what message does this send to the children???

THE LIE OF THE CENTURY

"All war is based on deception." -- Sun Tzu, The Art of War

There is nothing new in a government lying to their people to start a war. Indeed because most people prefer living in peace to bloody and horrific death in war, any government that desires to initiate a war usually lies to their people to create the illusion that support for the war is the only possible choice they can make.

President McKinley told the American people that the USS Maine had been sunk in Havana Harbor by a Spanish mine. The American people, outraged by this apparent unprovoked attack, supported the Spanish American War. The Captain of the USS Maine had insisted the ship was sunk by a coal bin explosion, investigations after the war proved that such had indeed been the case. There had been no mine.

Ministers were told of need for Gulf war ‘excuse’

MINISTERS were warned in July 2002 that Britain was committed to taking part in an American-led invasion of Iraq and they had no choice but to find a way of making it legal.

The warning, in a leaked Cabinet Office briefing paper, said Tony Blair had already agreed to back military action to get rid of Saddam Hussein at a summit at the Texas ranch of President George W Bush three months earlier.

The briefing paper, for participants at a meeting of Blair’s inner circle on July 23, 2002, said that since regime change was illegal it was “necessary to create the conditions” which would make it legal.

Cruella Runs For The Senate

Katherine Harris, who is most directly responsible for the theft of the 2000 Presidential Election in Florida, is running for the Senate in 2006.

Who says that "cheaters never prosper"?

The silver lining is that it will take magic from the Diebold voting machines for her to win even the Repuke nomination. Then, perhaps, she will slither away to the obscurity(and hopefully jail time) that she so richly deserves.

Now, Can We Get To The Real Question?

Now that Deep Throat's identity has finally been revealed, perhaps after 33 years, we can finally get to the really big question concerning Watergate:

Why did the Republicans break into the offices of the Democratic National Committee????

I was only six at the time of the break in, but, from what I understand, Nixon's re-election was pretty much a certainty by June of 1972. Therefore, the Republicans did not have any need to "get something" on the Democrats. So, I don't buy the "they were trying to replace a bugging device" baloney story at all. The only other conclusion is that the Democrats had something on either Nixon or the Republicans. Something major. Something so damaging that the Republicans had to try to steal it. What was that something? What was Watergate really all about??
